Florine is a Yoga Alliance registered 500H Yoga Teacher.
She first discovered Yoga ten years ago, during her training as an actress and dancer (Physical Theatre).
She is practicing Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga, Iyengar and AcroYoga.
When she started to give classes to share her love for the living arts, she quickly realized that what she loved the most, was to transmit the way to connect body, breath and mind, and how one can change their life by practicing a few simple things. That’s when she decided to become a Yoga instructor, to dig deeper into the spirituality and physicality of the discipline.
She obtained her first certificate (Yoga Alliance 200H) after completing her training in Bali with Samyak Yoga with Yogi Trupta and Stephanie Viu-Kessler.
Then she went to India for a six-week journey, featuring a 300H Teacher Training Course at Rishikesh Yogpeeth with Roshan Singh and Anoop Purohit.
Florine also worked in hospitality, and tourism in New Zealand (2012-2013) She then spent three seasons in Canada (2015-2018) where she worked as a wilderness camp helper and guide.
Florine‘s teaching comes from different styles and traditions, combined together to create a rythmic flow adapted to suit each one’s physical abilities. On the foundations of Hatha Yoga, she will add elements from the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition, or slow it down to create a Yin sequence to get deeper emotional release and stretching.
She emphazises on alignment and verbal cues, and is also using hands-on alignment when needed, to provide saftety and long-term health for all the joints and muscles involved.
The classes usually start with a meditation, body awakening, and mind and breath grounding. Then Florine guides you through a few rounds of Sun Salutations. Then come the postures, combined together to get maximum benefits. The class ends with a cool down and a deep relaxation (Shavasana/Yoga Nidra).
Practice after practice, the mind becomes more focused, the body more stable, and the flexibility and strength increase gradually.
